Role overview
We are seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented Audit Professional to independently plan, execute, and deliver high-quality external audits. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, leading fieldwork, navigating complex accounting areas, and ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISAs). You will be responsible for managing audit timelines, mentoring junior staff, coordinating with component auditors, and driving seamless client relationships while maintaining rigorous quality and documentation standards.
Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Audit Planning
- Conduct kick-off meetings with client management to understand business operations, identify risks, and establish audit scope.
- Perform risk assessment procedures, document process flows for major transaction cycles, conduct walkthroughs, and test internal controls.
- Develop comprehensive audit strategies and plans tailored to each engagement.
Audit Execution & Complex Areas
- Independently execute fieldwork and manage end-to-end audit procedures.
- Lead testing and evaluation of complex audit areas including revenue recognition, joint ventures, unrecorded liabilities, fair value instruments, provisions & contingencies, and impairment assessments.
- Identify and document control deficiencies and recommend practical remediation steps.
Quality Assurance & Deliverables
- Prepare audit working papers (AWPs) and ensure they meet firm and regulatory standards.
- Proactively address and resolve all Manager and Partner review comments prior to file sign-off.
- Coordinate and review component auditors’ work in collaboration with the Engagement Manager.
- Consult with firm specialists (Tax, Valuation, IT) on technical or complex matters.
- Draft and finalize financial statements, management letters, and other client deliverables.
- Ensure all audit files are inspection-ready and fully compliant with documentation standards.
Commercial & Administrative Management
- Raise advance and final fee notes, compile expense documentation, and follow up on client payments.
- Maintain accurate billing and expense tracking throughout the engagement lifecycle.
Team Leadership & Professional Development
- Mentor, guide, and train junior audit staff on-the-job.
- Attend mandatory technical training sessions to stay current with evolving standards and firm methodologies.
- Foster long-term, trusted relationships with audit clients through proactive communication and service delivery
Must-Have Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional Qualification: Fully or partially qualified CA, ACCA, or CPA.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in external audit or assurance.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong, practical understanding of IFRS, ISAs, and other assurance-based reporting frameworks.
- Core Skills:

- Leadership capability with experience managing and coaching junior staff

- Language: Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Nice-to-Have
- Previous experience working within a Big 4 or top-tier professional services firm.
- Working knowledge of Caseware or similar audit management software.
- Industry-specific audit experience (e.g., financial services, manufacturing, technology, or real estate).
